Comprehension Practise

This week we practised answering questions about a text. We learned how to find important words in the question and look in the text for the answer. We also learned to cross out wrong answers and pick the best one. This helps us understand what we read better.

I enjoyed finding answers. I need to improve on getting better on being on task. I am good at reading

Wonder

This term in reading we are diving into a novel study for the book “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio.  This week we are focusing on what we can learn about the characters, especially through their dialogue.  Characters’ thoughts and feelings can be revealed through their dialogue.  This allows readers to make inferences about their internal perspectives and motivations.

We read Part One Chapters 5-7 which was about…

Our first task was to choose dialogue from the relevant chapter and use the dialogue to infer what each of the characters’ thoughts may have been.  Here is my work :

Our second task was to imagine we are part of a welcoming committee at Beecher Prep, and create a warm and inviting poster to welcome August, the main character in the story. Our poster had to reflect the school’s values of kindness, inclusivity, and diversity.

I enjoyed writing

I need to improve on my reading skill ( reading words properly not pronouncing but saying a different word that I wasn’t suposed to say)

Evaluation

I did evaluation.

Evaluation is thinking about two sides of an issue.
I was doing an aegumentation on pets should be on busses yes or no. I chose no becasue it might pee or poo on the bus which is negetive becasue it could be stepped in and it needs to be cleaned and because the pet might be vicous and dangerous.

And I don’t think anyone wants to be sitting next to a vicous animal, would you?

I enjoyed creating the evaluaition. I need to improve on my spelling. I did well on writing.

WW1 And Their Effects

We are learning about world war one and there events and there effects.

First we made a copy of a slide and we found out information for rats and lice.

Next we went on alink the teacher put on and it took us to youtube to a video to give us information on world war one.

After that we put the information we found out in the video in to the slide.

There are many diseases you could get in war like trench foot trench foot is a disease that could lead to amputation trrench foot a disease you can catch by standing in mud or water for to long.

Another disease you could get is trench fever you get trench fever from lice lice also create a never ending itch.

Shell shock is a truama because the bombs and shots.

In war galipoli had few grenades so the soldiers used emtpy jam tins to make home made bombs.

In war soldiers would often form a family away from their real families.

Periscopes were used to see safely out of trenches without being in danger of getting shot.

I enjoyed this activity because i got to understand everything without enyone helping me.

I need to inprove on putting soldiers instead of they.

I did well on getting ideas.
