Limerick Poems

I did limerick poems.

Limerick poems are poems that have 5 rhymes and 5 sentences the first second and 5 last words of the sentence rhymes and the third and fourth last word of the sentence rhyme.

Next i had to use syllables to see how many claps are in the sentence and put the number of claps next to the sentence. After that I had to highlight the rhymes green (for the first second and third) and highlight the rest red (third and fourth).

Next I had to make a DLO on how to use syllables and I’ll show you now.

I enjoyed clapping. I need to improve on typing words correctly when typing fast. I was good at answering the questions.

Pepeha

I did my pepeha.

First I had to wrte my pepeha.

I had to write my maunga my awa my iwi my kura my papa my mama my last name and lastly I did my first name.

I couldn’t find my awa or my iwi so I put my mums iwi and awa and I don’t put my name and my last name and just my pepeha in general because that is personal information that randoms should not know.

Next I had to add all the answers which I couldn’t do so I went home after school so I could ask my mum all the questions which were pretty easy for her and I also knew them but I forgot because my mum hasn’t mentioned it in a while.

(Maori to english) Iwi means tribe awa means river kura means school maunga means mountain and papa and mama means mum and dad.

I enjoyed putting in all the answers. I need to inprove on my remebering. I did well at typing

Lists

In writing I learned how to do different types of lists.

FIrst I did the sports list I chose net ball these are the rules I wrote for netball it was really easy since I did training for netball.

Rules for Netball

  • You cannot run with the ball.
  • You cannot snatch or hit the ball out of a player’s hands
  • You must stand 3 feet away from the person with the ball (while defending).
  • You cannot hold the ball for more than 3 seconds.
  • Seven players on the court at one time
  • 10 four quarters in netball

Next I did what a bodybuilders shopping list I thought it would be easy but it wasn’t but I wrote these.

Bodybuilders shopping list

  • Fish
  • Red meats
  • Chicken
  • Protein bars
  • Protein shakes
  • Cheese
  • Water
  • Eggs
  • Low fat milk

And lastly I did what a Teachers to do list would be like and this is what I wrote for this list.

Teachers to do list

  • Make the kids happy
  • Get to know the kids
  • Get the kids to get to know you
  • Go to meetings/Meeting
  • Teach the kids

I enjoyed writing the netball rules. I need to  inprove on thinking of things faster. I did well on thinking of the body builders shopping list.

Rhyming Poem

We wrote perfect rhyme poems.

Perferct rhyme is a type of rhyme that repeats the same sound as another word example [Down Below]

There is a hare

That likes a bear

But he doesn’t have that much hair

But he doesn’t care

First we wrote a poem of an animal or object my poem was about a fat cat that is friendly and finds a rat the day before and a bear that has a lot of hair and he’ll give you a scare if you see him and that he ate a bear and lastly when he roars it is not clear.

Then we had to put rhymes at the end of every single line or sentence.

Lastly we presented our poems to the class I was more nervous each time it got closer but it was was fun presenting my poem.

I enjoyed writing the poem. I need to improve on speaking louder. I did well on writing the poem.
